The Principal of Ntotroso College of Nursing in the
Asutifi District of the Brong Ahafo Region, Alhaji Abdul Karim Boakye-Yiadom
has noted that the school’s quest to produced qualified nurses it has mapped
out strategy to flush out students with forged certificates.
Alhaji Abdul Karim Boakye Yiadom speaking at the
launch of the biennial Apomasu Festival of the chiefs and people of Ntotroso
said the school has a good collaboration with the West Africa Examinations
Council (WAEC) which is helping to identify students with forged certificates.
So far the school has sacked six students with forged certificates.
Alhaji Boakye-Yiadom noted that the school is
tightening its admission process so that students with forged certificates
would not get admission whiles those with good results are rather denied.
The Principal revealed that the students that were
sacked brought in computer generated certificates and called on prospective
candidates who want to apply to enroll into the school not allow people to
generate certificates for them though their grades are not good because they
would verify all certificates at WAEC which would expose them.
He revealed that the two-year old school is facing many
challenges and needs urgent attention.
“We are facing many challenges as a school, there
is no vehicle to convey the students for clinical, because the school is not
walled the students live in fear because of their security water cannot be left
out of the problem, " Alhaji Boakye-Yiadom.
Majority of the staff of the school are not on
government payroll because of the frozen of employment.
He called on government to come to the aid of the
school to help reduce the numerous challenges with security and staffing as major
ones.
i am a student at the college and i am pleading with the government to give a criticall concern to the noble institution.college of nursing, ntotoroso,the two year old college has a broader aim of becoming one of the leading best colleges in the country.
