From: Michael Sarpong MFUM, Adrobaa

The Adrobaahene in the Tano North District of the Brong Ahafo Region, Nana Odiasempa Kwaku Boadu has banned politicians especially the ruling government not to step foot in the community to campaign if the road from Terchire to the community is not tarred.

According to Nana Odiasempa Kwaku Boadu many promises concerning the construction of the road from Terchire to the community have been made but it has not seen the light of the day.

                                 Nana Odiasempa Kwaku Boadu

“When you take Tano North and South Districts, Adrobaa is the community where most of the vegetables are cultivated, maize as well but our roads are in a deplorable state. Once a while they would come and gravel it, but within a short time it gets to its bad state again because they do not tarred it. The road from Adrobaa to Terchire is only three miles but since creation the road has never been tarred,” Nana Boadu.

Nana Boadu noted that he has taken a decision with his community not to allow any politician to come to the community to campaign.

“We know the DCE is NDC whiles the MP is NPP. We have resolve that this year we are not going to allow any politician in this community especially NDC because they are in power. What the people of Nkoransa did by preventing the District Level Elections was a tip of the iceberg; we would not allow the Presidential and Parliamentary elections in this community unless we see that our roads are tarred. We have been deceived for a long time,” Odiasempa stated.
He also complained bitterly about poor telecommunication network in the community.

“None of the telecommunication is working here so it is making live very stressful for us you have to move and get a vantage location before you can make a call,” Nana Boadu revealed.

GHANAIANS LOSING INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

From: Michael Sarpong Mfum,Sunyani

The Head of Department of Modern Language Section Sunyani Polytechnic, Mr. Charles Afram Snr has admonished the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service to introduced French as a core subject in the country because many Ghanaians are losing international opportunities because their inability to communicate in French.

Mr. Charles Afram Snr said it is pathetic that many Ghanaians with high level of expertise and experience are losing international opportunities because of their inability to communicate in French.

Mr. Charles Afram Snr.

Mr. Afram Snr revealed that most Francophone countries have English Language as a core subject on their syllabus but Ghana has nothing like that. He admonished that French must be given a second look at and the effort must not be rhetorical but more practical.

He also noted that there is the perception that Ghanaians are French so there is no need to learn French but believes its having a negative toll on Ghanaians though the authorities have not realized it.

“They are not better than us but because of the effort they are putting in to get the basics in English Language they are getting all the international offers. I quite remember around 10p.m. someone came to my house I thought there was a problem, but no, the guy has lost two great opportunities to work with two different companies because he can’t communicate in French so he had come for me to help him. As we speak he is doing well, he can express himself in French now,” Mr. Afram Snr revealed.

He said, “The Centre also teaches Spanish, English, Chinese, Japanese and Deutsch so residents of Sunyani should patronize the services of the Centre because it is affordable and adequate time would be given to them.”
